CYPRUS ME EVENT

On the 18th of February 2024, Emphasys Centre joined forces with the Agios Lazaros Festival – a special needs center, in partnership with the Cyprus Refugee Council, to raise awareness about the challenges faced by marginalized groups such as migrants, refugees, and individuals with disabilities. The event brought together a diverse range of participants including migrants, individuals with mental disabilities, NGO representatives, adult trainers, and others interested in upskilling. The session commenced with an overview of the Innova project, delving into its objectives, consortium, and target groups. A highlight was the presentation of Project Result 1 – ‘The INNOVA Handbook’, along with insights into its pilot testing in Cyprus, showcasing the project’s methodology in action. The event began with a welcoming address, followed by heartfelt stories from migrant students and parents sharing their experiences. A lively dance program celebrated cultural diversity, leading into an open Q&A session where attendees engaged with presenters and Emphasys staff, fostering dialogue and learning. Copies of the INNOVA Handbook were distributed, ensuring widespread access to valuable resources. The event underscored the importance of inclusivity and collaboration in addressing societal challenges.
